    Question Mufflers???

I'm pretty new so bare with me. I was thinking about just for now buying just some new mufflers, most likely Magnaflow, and I couldn't find any videos showing the sound of stock exhaust with just aftermarket mufflers. Can somebody let me know what the difference in sound would be, and any pros and cons that would come along with them???

    Thanks in advance.

if your looking for performance, get a full exhaust system. if your looking for mostly sound, get mufflers. imo, i would get a full exhaust if i had a 1.8T. your not gonna get many gains on a 3.0 with a full exhaust, so most people with a 3.0 only get mufflers, such as 14851's which i should be getting within the next few weeks

    Re: Mufflers???

Well I'm looking at mufflers alone just due to shortage of $ since I'm a full time college student and don't currently have a job, so considering that what would you say about just mufflers, referring to sound and pros and cons. Thanks.

    Re: Mufflers???

I have the magnaflow 14851's with the stock exhaust and the resonator cut off the center. It does get loud at times so it'll be sufficient. But take it from me - do yourself a big favor and just save for a full exhaust. Why? because of performance reasons - eventually I'm guessing you'll be doing performance mods if you havent already. Also they sound better. No mufflers with a stock exhaust compares to the sound of a Neuspeed exhaust(with a test pipe preferably but even without one), it sounds really good and has the perfect resonators so its not overly loud with a test pipe. It'll be loud when you get on it, and it'll sound really good.

For a couple hundred extra trust me, I would have done the same if I knew better/wasnt so excited and in a rush. Nuespeed is the best sounding IMO(with a testpipe) and for $800 shipped to your door its a great price compared to APR for $1100 or other custom exhausts that can go over $800. So you'll be opening up your engine with the bigger pipes, plus the test pipe with perfect resonators on the exhaust it's perfect. This is a perfect example of pay nice or pay twice. You can pay $200 for the mufflers then at least $100 more to put them on then its like $100($120 for me) to get the center resonator cut off the exhaust system and replaced with y piping. So you're looking at probably $450. Then one day you're gonna want a full exhaust then u gotta drop $800 more then installation. TRUST ME and wait that extra paycheck and just get the whole damn thing. Thats my $.02

agreed, like i said, full exhaust for performance...just save it up! mufflers are gonna run you around 350 anyways, might as well wait the extra couple weeks or w.e it is, and just get the full exhaust
