    Buffering after wet sanding

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I had to wet sand where my old audi rings were on the back to remove all the glue. Then I just used some regular buffer cream and a rag, but it did not help to shine the paint again. What do I do / use? It is the same color as the dolphin gray, but not shiny, looks flat dolphin gray. What is the best method for fixing this?

that doesnt really help his issue. 3m buffing compound should do the trick, athough any decent buffing compound should would, and some elbow grease of course.

I'd would wetsand w/some 2000 and then buff it with glaze and polish. Using a real buffer and the right pads will get what you want.

You can use an orbital to buff out 2000 grit.

Have it buffed. I doubt you will get the gloss back without doing so.

    Re: Buffering after wet sanding

I had to wet sand some deep scratches on my Titan (2000 grit) and it took 3-4 passes with my Flex DA Oribital buffer with an aggressive pad/polish combo to get them out...so if doing this by hand (and/or not aggressive enough polish/compound); IT'S GOING TO TAKE AWHILE/ALOT OF ELBOW GREASE!
Find a friend w/ a buffer would be my recomendation, but if not wetsanding with 2000-3000 grit will make it easier for you to get it out by hand than the 1000 grit scratches.
