    Re: problem with trunk

Try to unlock the car with you're key and i mean not with the remote but put it in the (trunk) lock and turn, and then try to open it with the handle.
I know some guys that had the same problem.

Let me know if it worked.

Same here only opens with remote or from driver's side door. Also tried using the manual method to unlock the trunk also no go. Been like that for a year now... too busy modding to spend $$$ on this. I think I read of someone on AW replacing some switch/part in the trunklid. Not sure of part# or price. Maybe someone else can chime in on this.

I remember someone fixing the same problem like this aswell.

Maybe you have to turn the key one way and pull it out without turning it back?

    Re: problem with trunk

Tonight my trunk latch no longer engages. No matter if I try slamming the trunk, or holding it shut tightly while I lock the car, or softly closing it, it just simply refuses to engage. I was getting it to catch for a little while by holding it and locking, but when I started the car, it shows that the trunk is open. Also when I lock the car, the alarm never beeps, probably due to it thinking that the trunk is still open. I've read some say that the vacuum may have gotten snagged or cut or something, but the part by the hinge still appears fine, and others have said that they had issues with the actual mechanical piece. I'm not quite sure where the vacuum line goes after the trunk hinge, but the rest of my doors still lock fine. Didn't know if anyone had any ideas or help on the matter. Thanks

Ended up disconnecting the battery and took off all the back paneling to look at the lock mechanism. After ensuring everything was tight and secure I hooked the battery back up and was able to get all the functions to work fine. Not quite sure what was going on, but just glad it's working and hope it keeps working!

Yeah, the B6 does not use any vacuum operated locks, everything is electrically operated.
