    Painting roof black

so i just got a quote to have my roof painted black and the total came to over $1200 which seemed rather excessive to me... the quote included replacing the strips on the side of the roof where it meets the doors... I got the quote from a A+ body shop. the quote didnt include this, but i was also thinking of having part of my hood painted (in the middle / between the headlights following the body lines on the hood outward in the back)

am i right thinking this is way overpriced? or is this reasonable?
what are the consensus on the partial hood painted?

most of the prices i've seen for this have ranged from 400-800 bucks, depending on quality, type of paint, and whether or not they changed the side strips.

i heard that the new hot shizz is to get the high gloss / uv resistant vinyl. this will apply and look glossy like paint, and only cost about $300 installed. when you're done with your car, just peel it off

    Re: Painting roof black

Depending on how the roof is painted....

If they are going to take off the front and back windshield and dismantle the roof completely to paint it, this price would be about right considering the amount of work.

however, most of the places can paint the roof by just covering up sides and paint directly over them so for that you should realistically be looking at 300 to 400 range.

way overpriced, should be at the absolute most $700 bucks. $400-500 is the average cost though
