South Bend SS 8 Puck Clutch

Here is my new South Bend 8 Puck SS clutch. It uses the same center as the OFE or FE but has the 8 pads instead of a solid disk and it is also made out of ceramic instead of organic or feramic like the OFE and FE.

I don't know how you guys do this without a lift. I am so spoiled doing clutches with a car lift and transmission jack.

yes oem flywheel that has been resurfaced 3 times now. Hell it might be a lightweight now

Looks like my clutchmaster 8 puck. Break in period is very short on ceramic clutches. Mine works great fwiw

You can rent a transmission jack for cheap. With the trans strapped to the jack table, the table is adjustable for angle for/aft and side to side, and with the angles just right, the trans will bolt up perfectly, by yourself, without a struggle. The only thing to consider is that the car will need to be high enough for clearance to roll the trans jack with the trans strapped on it, under the car.

Better heat transfer due to less material.

Were you compensated for the FE since you were compensated with that because of the OFE, lol?

Ceramic grabs and is able to withstand heat much better. The pucks are smaller to offset the grabbing ability, if they were bigger the clutch would be on/off and suck to drive.

yes, puck clutches are more "grabby" and like dirty explained part of the reason they are pucked is because of the material. also they wont last as long as a traditional disk (less material)

there are lots of things cars should have but your average driver doesnt want the trade off in driveability

you are telling me! i tried to use a tranny jack to put it back in but said the hell with it and got under it and shoved it in.. much easier IMO
