    Forge 001

    Synapse BOV

anyone have experience with either of these, I'll be switching from my Forge 007 to one of these soon and I'd like some feedback on these, both are open during idle and will be placed on my cold side piping, with a filter for foreign objects.

Please do not vote for the hell of it, only people who have an educated opinion.

Re: Forge 001 vs Synapse BOV

You need a Forge 004 BOV with duel pistons. The 001 only has one. I would go with 004 since it is a lot cheeper than the Synapse and I like my 004 very much. Plus you have to add a anti-stall kit to the Synapse which adds to its already $200 price tag.

I have a practically new synapse with hks mounting flange and the one it came with for 190 shipped. I loved my synapse.

Re: Forge 001 vs Synapse BOV

I've run the Synapse for 8 months and will never run anything else, I am mafless so no antistall needed for me. It sounds nothing like any other, which is nice why don't you peep my build threads and my videos it's the only place you will see or here it on this board, I don't think anyone else has posted anything about it other than me.

the 004 is closed during idle and I want it open to improve throttle response, I dont have a MAF so it wont negativity affect anything.

I may be wrong but I think he's talking about the re-circulation kit to account for unmeasured air if your running a mass air flow sensor

Ok I stand corrected. I don't come over to the B5 section much so I didn't know if you still had a MAF or not. Then I would vote for the Synapse if you have the $$$.

I would think it would work like the 2nd piston in a 004. But I also could be wrong never seeing one.

his car would not run right he said it was due to the BOV not opening correctly, after he received a new one from tial and the car would hesitate and stutter between shifts so he switched it out for a synapse BOV and it ran perfect. I'm not saying the synapse valve is any better than the forge but after putting it on it fixed the problem and he's been running for 6 months now with no problems related to the BOV

+1 for synapse. I'm running it on my HTA30r and couldn't be happier. No compressor surge what so ever and doesn't have that ricey BOV noise.

indeed, you can hear it in most of my videos just a simple tshhhh sound of air, nothing more. Simple piston design, adjustable, no surge and awesome response.

Re: Forge 001 vs Synapse BOV

Synapse makes a really great BOV. I currently run one and I am more than pleased with it. After speaking with Synapse directly I opted to re-circ my setup instead of going for the anti-stall kit.

They actually recommended that I do this. They said it would idle a lot better than if I was using their anti-stall kit.

    Calling All Synapse Owners!!

ok, I have the Synapse now, thanks Solowb5, and it was easily compressed by hand before, and after the welder made the bung for it, I cant compress it by hand anymore (he had the BOV at his shop yesterday to make the bung). Was it right before, or did he somehow fix it accidentally?
