Did anyone see the ad in the Globe and Mail today (Toronto publication)?

Audi is advertising 2009 A4's with Manual 6spd Transmission, 17" wheels, Sunroof, Sirrius, Leather and more for $39700.
Must take delivery on or before Nov 30th.

Looks like a great price!

Expect a lot of incentives in the coming months to move cars. They sold a lot in Oct with the Audi care or Winter tire package promotion, but Nov - Feb is going to be slow.

So I always go back comparing the price for the 2001 A4 1.8T quattro to see how things have come along over the years....

All in all the price is pretty darn good. Sure there's a few things missing or the other one has when compared to the other. Too bad that the LED package wasn't part of the price or at least, available as an option as it seems on Audi Canada's website.

Do we have at least DSG in the Avant yet...?

The chances of the DSG making it to the A4 here in North America is just as good as me getting an RS4 :)

I think the big reason is the much improved ZF automatic transmission with the B8. Folks that have the car now say that it's just as good as the first generation DSG system (not sure what that means, maybe the one on the VW?) You hit the paddle, and instantly it shifts. Downshift, it blips the throttle, making for some smooth transition.

Alex gave me one to test drive at AOM, and can say that I was pretty impressed with the automatic, shifts are lightning quick, and nothing like the previous versions. It was just missing the paddles but the response time should be the same.
