I had posted previously when I had twisted my front axle at the track and had vibrations when driving. Since then I have replaced both of the front axles. When doing so, the drivers side axle backed out at some point within the first 100 miles. I don't know if the new bolts got grease on them or what, but I did not notice that the bolts had backed out and the car was driving perfectly fine, I just happened to check on them to be cautious.
From what I had heard everywhere else the car will stop driving if the axle is disconnected. All 6 bolts were loose but I don't believe it was completely disconnected. Would this be why the car still drove without impairment?
Regardless of all of that, both before the axle loosened and after, replacing the axle did not completely solve my problem. After my day at the track the car would bounce/shake under light acceleration, mostly felt in your seat and visible in the shifter. This vibration can also be felt when coasting to a stop in any gear letting the engine brake the car.
Also ever since then, both before and after replacing the axles, first gear has a much louder whine to it, similar to that of reverse but not as loud. Also if I accelerate in first gear and push in the clutch at around 4k rpms and leave the car in first, a noise is quite noticable that sounds like something rotating/rubbing, which I assume would be what is causing the whine in first gear. Once 1st gear is disengaged there is no noise!
Main question is, what could this noise be that can be heard while coasting with car in first, but not when coasting in neutral or any other gear? As for the vibration I have checked everything. Rear diff mount, the entire driveshaft, snub, engine and tranny mounts, etc. but nothing seems damaged rubbing or broken. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
