Im looking to make a EFK and need to know which SPAL fan to use:

    all I know:
    14" fan

    what I need to know:

    puller or pusher?
    CFM amount?
    better options than spal?
hi flow vs. low flow? (SPP kit)

    TIA

I have a SPAL fan, but I bought it through VAST. Its the "medium flow". I highly recommend it. It pushes SO much air behind there.

yeah^^ I looked at the vast one, and the SPP one, just wanted to save a few bucks.

I also need to know the size of the belt to delete the clutch fan altogether.

i was going to buy the fan seperate, but went with the Vast one instead. The price to do it by itself was too close to the vast price, plus the Vast one includes the cover for your timing cover. Exceptional service to add.

I was under the impression that you could rid yourself of the pulley all together, meaning I would need a shorter one. Like you can in the A4's.

is there something the fan's pulley actually drives/does beside spin the clutch fan?

Also, the Fans get pretty cheap on Egay.

Just watched a vast unit be installed a month ago. Even with getting rid of the pulley/fan/bracket, no new belt needed. I believe I remember reading that the vast hi-flow unit is in the 1800's cfm range. Most are reversable I think depending how you wire them. g/l

VAST sells two kits as you mentioned.... the medium flow pushes 1900CFM, and the Hi-Flo for another 30 dollars is 2200 .
