    Unhappy Engine Issues

I'm getting a terrible noise from the top pulley on the front of my engine, my friend thinks it is the water pump. It started on Friday, I drove it up to Winter Park, it made the noise the whole way, but on the way back on Sunday, and never again until today did it make it again. It's louder than the engine and almost louder than my sub at medium volumes, and is proportional to my rpms. The car in question is a 99.5 V6 QMS, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Re: Engine Issues

    Possible the auxillary belt idler.

Best way to determine the offending part, is to remove the belt, and run the engine.

If the noise goes away, you've found the culprit. If it remains, then of course, it's your water pump.
