    Quick question about offsets

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I searched

2005 ultrasport avant on h+r race springs
In the near future i believe i will be getting some wheels made. I am trying to figure out what would be the best size for what i want and i am having trouble figuring this out. I am looking at getting 18 x 9 all the way around. I have b5 s4 brakes. I want the wheel face to sit flush with the fender. What offset do i need to run to get what i want. are there any other measurements i need.

Right now i am running 18x 8.5 rs6 reps et 30 and they sit flush and clear the brakes by 1-3mm with new pads. However i know the stock s4 wheels are 45mm or 46mm offset. So i am confused about what offset i need.

    thanks

    Re: Quick question about offsets

sure haha, i have Neuspeed race springs with Bilstein shocks, and i'm running 18x8.5 ET35 all around, on 245/40 ZR18's and i had to add -2.5 deg of camber in the rear to keep them from rubbing, i have half a pinky of space from the 2 front fenders and the 2 rear quarter panels i love it. i mean people's faces when they put their fingers in there is priceless. The thing is i run really thick tires, if u ran 235/35 R18's u'd have a bit more of a gap, but still ET35 would be right on the border of ripping ur fender off i had ET45's before and they were too far in.

    Re: Quick question about offsets

i think my main worry is the brakes. i just don't want to order wheels and then have them not fit. I don't want to run spacers

An ET of 36.35 would put the outside edge of an 18x9 wheel in the same exact position as your ET30 18x8.5 wheel.

That will depend on spoke design.

picks of the camber!! immleaning towards getting 18 over 19's i like having rubber. i always thought you had 19's i think it might be your drop?

    Re: Quick question about offsets

Trying to determine offset and wheel width is useless without looking at the wheel design.

I test fit a Kerscher 18x8.0 ET35 wheel which 'should fit' but I needed a 20mm spacer to clear the caliper due to the shape of the wheel.

The CL63 18x8.5 ET32 wheel I tested next clears easily due to the flat face design.
