    fog light issue

I just bought a 2004 USP A4 1.8TQ 6speed today..this was to replace the A4 i totaled a little over a week ago... I noticed when i got home that my fog lights do not turn on when driving. It has the coming home/leaving home option where when i unlock my car and its dark out my fogs light up. They do light up when i unlock my car, but they do not light up when i pull the switch out to turn them on during driving.. any idea if there is an option or something i need to turn on/off for them to be on when i drive as well, or is this an electrical issue i should be looking into? I just drove home the car tonight so if you guys think its an issue i will definitely be calling the dealer i bought it from about it to have it handled ASAP.

i posted in the b6 tech talk forum but got 0 responses.. im trying to get a quick response before i go to bed... thanks guys

Do you get a "foglight out" warning on the dash? Are you high beams off? Are you SURE you pulled the switch out far enough to turn them on?

are your high beams on? might have hit the stick by accident! When high beams are on, fogs turn off.

Might be a problem with the high beam relay thingy in the event your high beams are off.

no fog light out warning.... high beams are not on... and i definitely pull the switch out far enough.. i even pull it out far enough for the rear fog light to go on, but i notice the rear fog light doesnt go on either!... i dont care about the rear one though, but i want my fogs.... i just bought this car and next week i need to bring it back in to get a new windshield put on so i want them to hopefully take care of this for me too, unless its just something retarded i didnt now about...

    Re: fog light issue

ok guys.. so just to make sure i went to check the high beams even though i knew they werent on..... So i turned my high beams on by pushing the stalk forward, they go on,, then turned them off... then pushed the stalk back to just flash the high beams, they go on and then off as soon as i release it... when i push the stalk forward again to lock them on they dont go on at all!! my Xenon headlights stay on the whole time by the way, and no fogs came on at all the light on the switch for the light does light up for the fogs being on when i pull the switch out as well, but still no fogs..... GRRRR.. got some b*tching to do at the dealer next week when i bring it back in

Have you checked the fuses yet? Either that, or try taking the switch out and unplugging it and making sure everything is clean and whatnot. It could just be the switch is bad.
