Tinted Tails.....Ideas (with photos)

So i put some electrical tape on my tails to simulate the tint...what do you guys think?...go for it. or leave it..??? Thanks for your opinions!

how dark are you planning on tinting? i think if you go too light the tinted red will look bad right against the plain red

I personally like the look of tinted tails on a black car. I bought pre-cut sticky tint that way if I don't like it I can pull it off.

I think a light charcoal tint just on the white will look good. Don't know how it can be done so that it looks perfect.

I think you should stealth the bulbs and leave the housings the way they are.

Yeah tint the red and leave the white/silver. I think that always looks the best. Unless your car is black, then i vote all black. So to the OP, go all black.

Yeah, my car is Moro Blue - the tails will probably be sprayed sometime this weekend!
Hopefully I don't muck it up!

I think tinted taillights look like an afterthought. Much like stick on hood scoops and headlight masks. To each his own though.

If you do insist on doing it, I would definitely go with lamin-x and not night shades paint. That stuff is sh1t IMO.

has anyone who has their tails tinted had any legal problems with this?? I was searching to see if i could find night shades in any stores and came across a yahoo answers topic asking the very question i needed answered.

Although, someone said that they had tinted their tails with it and that they got pulled over and were cited for it! I don't understand what cop would honestly waste their time with that seeing as how it's transparent to to the tail lights when they come on... So i just wanted to check if anyone has had any issues with this. Cause i wanted to order some this weekend.

^^ use 2000 grit sandpaper (with water) and clear coat that!

ya. the problem with nightshades is that all the imperfections in the spray pattern are visible while illuminated. if you are keeping the chrome rings and headlights/corners or have some chrome accents on the exterior, tint the red only, and leave to reverse light section normal. it flows very well, especially on a black car. but if you are going full on black (wheels, rings, no chrome, knight rider-esque) i would suggest tinting all of it.
