HELP Flashing CEL!

Oh man my car has been giving me nothing but problems in the last month.
Anyways for the past two weeks my car has had a very very bad stutter in a low RPM PEOPLE DID NOT LISTEN and told me because i was in too low of a RPM however no one understood that it never did it before. When my car is in any gear but first at 1500-2500 RPM there is a very very bad stutter, almost like its stalling, then today and yesterday i got a flashing CEL, the check engine light stayed today, unfortuantly i cannot find my OBDII to scan my ECU however does anyone have an idea what this is? Coil Packs, tune gone bad? plugs(were just changed about 5-10K ago)

P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire, Anybody know what to do about this situation? How do i correct it? Coil pack maybe something bigger? Any suggestions

Swap coil packs around and see if the misfire follows.

20 bucks says it is the ICM.

Swap a different coil pack into cyl 3, vag it. If it says with cyl 3 than it wasn't the coil pack if it moves it was the coil pack.

If it stays with cyl 3 swap the injector out to another cyl. If the miss fire follows the injector than you know it was the injector. But if it stays with cyl 3 next step is to replace the ICM.

If replacing the ICM doesn't fix the miss fire you've got bigger problems.

i had the same problem like a month ago my car started shaking and sounded like a modded Subaru wrx and had a flashing CEL got it scanned and had the same code so i changed the spark plugs and nothing i still had a misfire on #3 so i replaced the coil pack and it still kept acting up, last i ordered a new ICM and fixed the problem i bet u anything thats ur problem.

Could be something as simple as an intake gasket. Had the exact same problem about a month back and replaced the plugs, plug wires and coil ignition pack. Found out the problem was just a faulty intake mani gasket.

Where can i get an ICM and how much is one?

You can ebay one for about 65 bucks, it probably wont be OEM for that price but I have 20k on an ebay one and it is still working.

If you want OEM go to ecstuning, it will cost you more money but will be better a quality part.

you could always find a friend with a 1.8t and swap ICM's with them to make sure it is that before you spend the $$.

20 bucks says its NOT the ICM. he has a 2001. No icm on facelift cars. i'd change the plugs first since thats the cheapest route, then check all the connections for the coil packs since they get loose or get wet from time to time. then if it still happens i would change the coil pack. switch the coil packs around and see if it follows it. then you would know for sure.

they unclip, just unbolt them, take off the clip and switch it with another coilpack and see if the misfire folllows
