help me locate a trans please

its either i get a rebuild on my trans(which a full rebuild will cost $2300, and also labor to remove/replace the trans) or find a used trans. i know it wont cost that much to rebuild since only part of the transmission is creating a problem where my speed sensor is being chewed up adn the speedo wont work. However everything else is fine, but the shop cant quote me since they dont know exactly what is wrong with it.

I just need help locating a transmission with somewhat low mile below 100k would be nice, and something that isnt overpriced. I emailed shokan, but they want $1125 for a used trans plus freight which seems very high to me. Any other places to look would be appreciated. I am trying to figure out what i need to do.

quattro...i will save a lot of money if i can find one used because i will DIY it with a mechanic buddy of mine. so im really hoping to find one, shokan is just overpriced.

Contact AP-Specialties, they're an official advertiser and I've seen their trans sell for ~$500. That's about the going rate for a used one.

yeah i contacted them already, but they said they had one with 150k miles on it. i would prefer something lower than that.

thanks, seem like they have a few. ill have to email them with some questions. they have some decent prices, much better than shokan. you deal with them before?

weekly. I work at a European "Specialty" shop just down the road, we buy crap through them often.
If you call ask for a dude named Stacey, he knows the euro stuff better than the rest of the people there. Not that looking up a trans is hard, but you know what I mean.

Someone on here was parting out a car with low miles a couple months ago and I asked about the trans and I think they said $400 + shipping.
I'll see if I can fine the name...

Which plug on the trans is for the speed sensor?

i dont know mike, i took it to the shop a while back and they showed me the sensor and replaced it. They told me that i would need to fix/replace the trans or else the sensor may fail again. Now the speedo isnt working again so im trying to figure out what will be the cheapest.
