I'm running one, installation is a breeze and it performs great. I sent you a PM regarding my Rieger front bumper. It is already modded for a front mount and includes RS4 style grilles.

    Re: CXRACING fmic

Seriously? you must have NOT searched farther than the first page. i've seen 3 CXRacing FMIC threads on hte actual forum before, not searching. don't half ass that shit bro.
I specifically have made 2 threads concerning installation and some general info about it. If i had ot do it over again, i probably would have gone with JHM, just becase JHM is kickass and provides a LOT more help than CXRacing (ie correct parts, amazing instructions, customer service that's not from a third world country). S hose delete is great too. It's not that much more than the cxracing kit, also.

if you need instructions and customer service for a fmic install for the exact same parts then ..... yeah pay the $200 more. thats why audi aftermarket parts are so overpriced now. whatever its your $

    Right..

We supply stainless brackets, tons of extra hardware, and even installation video for the front mount AND an electric fan kit install. We actually own Audi's, so our support to you is far superior than you would receive anywhere else.

i guess the customers you cater to doesnt understand you source the same ebay kit and add a some hardware you can find at home depot for ~$20, aluminum bar, bend drill, done. some set of tbolts clamps

if you need a video to install 4 piece of piping then well, you deserve to pay $200 more.

Well for some of us, the time it would take to measure the pipes, cut, and weld them so that I can put my grills back in would cost me more than if I leave it to the pros.

By the way if you just buy the prebent piping and try to install it, it will be poking out of the bumper.

so you bought the ebay kit, the same intercooler and piping of the fhm kit and was unable to fit it behind the grill?

No you read this incorrectly, if you purchase the ebay fmic, the piping kit of ebay, etc. it does not fit behind the bumper as clean. However, the reason on the 17th of next month I am going to JHM is to have the kit installed with the appropriately routed piping that sits behind the bumper with all grills in.

the reason it sticks out the front is because of the lack of the s hose delete. If you cut the hose and really work the piping farther into hose, it'll fit just fine... Ill have pictures of mine up.
FYI the piping on ebay and jhm is the EXACT same thing. EXACT

    Re: CXRACING fmic

First off I can't tell you about another company's kit.

All I can tell you guys is that we developed the piping kit design for our kit in house. --> http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199848

As you can see in this thread, we made the prototype parts back in March of 08. Then finally released the kit in July once we had them replicated.

Here is our complete parts list for comparison:

1 – CD with FMIC and EFK(optional) install Videos
    1 – FMIC Core
4 - Custom JHM Pipes (2-2.25” and 2-2” OD - the longer set are for the drivers side)
    4 - 2.5” t-bolt clamps (6 if you have a RS4 bi-pipe)
    6 - 2.25” t-bolt clamps (4 if you have a RS4 bi-pipe)
    6 - 2” t-bolt clamps
    2 - 2.5” to 2.25” silicone couplers (4 if you have a RS4 bi-pipe)
    2 - 2.5” to 2” silicone couplers
    2 - 2.25” silicone couplers (0 if you have a RS4 bi-pipe)
    1 - 2” silicone couplers
    2 - 8mm x 1.25 allen bolt, 16mm long, stainless steel (with bracket kit)
    2 - 8mm x 1.25 allen bolt, 25mm long, stainless steel (with bracket kit)
2 - Stainless Steel JHM mounting brackets (with bracket kit)
2 - 10mm tall aluminum spacers (to be used as needed to make it fit best on your car) (with bracket kit)
10 - 8mm stainless washers (to be used as needed to make it fit best on your car) (with bracket kit)
20 - 14” Long Double Lock Black zip ties (extras included just in case) (with bracket kit)
1 - 3/8” plastic plug (for capping off the washer reservoir) (with bracket kit)
1 - Stainless Hose Clamp (with bracket kit)

Oh, and JHM customer support by people who actually own and drive Audis.

Food for thought. How will supporting companies that DON'T develop NEW parts for your car will ever help this platform progress? Then eventually the companies that do make new parts, run the risk of going out of business due to lack of funding for new projects and parts developement to further expand. What happens then? Can you call the Ebay companies and ask them to build you new parts when they probably drive a Honda and don't even own your car? Also who do you call for tech support if needed? I could go on and on but the morally bankrupt people probably stopped listening by now.

Thanks and I hope this info helps.

I am going with JHM also.

If you guys have a problem with the price, buy the core from CX for 80$ and the piping from JHM, thats what I did. Piping from CX alone is 320$, I inquired about this last week. 80$ isnt that much money and we should all support JHM, most of us have or will have atleast one of their products and are completely happy with them.

if you in house engineered a new product, then hats off to you, but since you just took an item off item, core and piping, and added some hardware and called it your own then there is no props to give

do you remember how long it took for him to get that piping all one piece? he had a feeler and everyone was waiting when they could send money for this kit... they did a lot of work to get those pipes like that. I know, because I went through the whole FMIC thing, and unless they are welded together you are going to kill yourself with anxiety of those couplers coming off, plus it looks like crap. I ditched the FMIC setup, just because I had the old piping from CXracing and my car looked like shit in the front. Im now back on AWE SMICS because I hated having to worry about parking parallel parking and the chance of some idiot in a college parking lot cracking the intercooler

Your backwards dude. CX racing had a kit, it sucked. Jason made his piping (see the pictures he posted of the prototypes) within a week or two CX racing came out with a "new" piping design. JHM and CX origional were not the same piping. Its all made in china, the design was copied, who the fuck cares.

JHM is the shiznit. i'm definitely a dedicated customer. Jason helped with a different application than this whenever I would call or email, no matter what issue I came across. I'm not poor, but am on a budget. I would buy JHM products if it came down to it. what you're getting for an extra $200 is incredible compared any other company on the market.

CX RACING COPIED JHM PIPING KIT.
The only mistake Jason did was to have a Chinese company reproducing his pipes. CX probably put their hands on the finished ones in the same time the first batch came out.

    STOP bullshitting please.

oh im sorry i forgot you know it all

i bought and sold a fmic kit from ebay wayyy before jhm started making their kits, here is a pic of the orginal cxracing kit that was available LAST YEAR

    check the post date here
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=179204

even with this old piping it still fits.

hmmm surprisingly the JHM kit uses 3 out of 4 of the EXACT same piping 5 MONTH LATER

    so who copied who first?

could jhm have contacted cxracing to work out a deal to get better 4th pipe made, while using the orignal 3? no thats too far fetched

STOP BULLSHITTING and get your facts straight before you start pointing your fingers

You guys sound like a bunch of 3rd graders. "He's copyingggggg!"

Buy the JHM kit, support our AZ advertisers. Jay and the guys at JHM are much more knowledgeable and supportive than the CX crew.

And for the record, "APT" (www.audiperformancetuning.net) were the first to make a piping kit with that core, although it sucked major ass. (I would know, I was one of their first victims).

Edit: "Site Temporarily Disabled." Looks like APT is doing well these days..

even with this old piping it still fits.

hmmm surprisingly the JHM kit uses 3 out of 4 of the EXACT same piping 5 MONTH LATER

    so who copied who first?

could jhm have contacted cxracing to work out a deal to get better 4th pipe made, while using the orignal 3? no thats too far fetched

STOP BULLSHITTING and get your facts straight before you start pointing your fingers

You better be careful what lies and BS you talk about.

I PERSONALLY MADE THOSE PIPES FROM SCRATCH. Can you see the welds in them, all of them (yes the crappy ground down ones, I am not a welder and just needed them to be good enough to be replicated). The original Ebay kit fit like crap from what I was told by many people. So I figured I would fix it and deliver a good low cost product to people.

I did this to HELP the community and spend alot of time making the pipes the right way.

So I made all the pipes from scratch to fit best. I GUARANTEE NONE of the pipes have the same bends as the original kit.

I BUILT THIS IN HOUSE and it looks like I made a mistake with the replicator I chose possibly.

I don't know what your problem is but DO NOT LIE!! You do NOT know me or my business. I MADE THEM and had them replicated I DID NOT copy anyone.

Thanks and I stand on my reputation.

Maybe I should stop listening to my customers when they ask for products and express concern about a crappy made product. Look what we did for shifters, prior to ours there was only junk.

    Re: CXRACING fmic

Even though I'm currently not a customer of JHM, I've seen them consistently take time out of their day and offer help on these boards. They don't necessarily have to do that since they can easily make money off their knowledge. So much respect to them for giving back to the Audi community the way they do.

That being said, I will be replacing my AWE SMICs with their frontmount at the beginning of the year. Logs say a lot and those logs posted were about on with my IATs with the sidemounts. AWE is a great great company, I just want cooler IATs without resorting to the water/meth route yet.
