Ripped off? (Vancouver)

So I finally went to the dealer (OpenRoad Audi on Boundry Rd.) and picked up a coil-pack to have in my trunk as a spare.

I was planning to buy 2, but I wasn't expecting them to cost $47.96 each! I thought these things were aprox. $30......the dealer was even "nice" enough to charge me $1.10 for an oil plug washer......c'mon that's just pathetic!

Are these "normal" prices/procedures at the dealer, or is there a local dealership that doesn't grind $1.10 out of you for a small washer? It's little things like this that piss people off.....

I avoid Openroad Audi like the plague.

You should have just bought the part from a VW dealer instead and it would have been cheaper too.

$47.96 for a coilpack from an Audi dealer ain't too bad. Oh, it was more pathetic when I was charged $1 for topping up windshield washer fluid during a service. Whenever you pay a visit to a dealership for any non-warranty related service, be prepared to get raped..

Oh, ok.....I just happened to be in the area. How about Capilano VW/Audi? Are they any better?

I'm still shaking my head about the washer thing.....the way I see it, you shouldn't even have to ask for it, let alone pay for it!

Are all the dealers the same? Could I get a better price on the coils at a different location?

If you were in the area of Open Road you should have popped over to VM Autohaus instead. They can supply all your OEM Audi needs with much better service and prices than the dealer .. on Juneau just off of Willingdon

uh......yeah! You and I both know that tiny washer is not worth $1.10! ......As far as the Tim's coffee goes, it's always worth every penny!
