Magnaflow Mufflers 14581...resonated or non-resonated?

For those of you out there who have these or who have heard these, is it better to leave the resonator on or to take it off? I want to avoid drone on my 1.8T, but want the mufflers to be audibly noticeable. Overall a good exhaust tone?

+1 ...no drone on a 1.8t at highway speeds. Never been in a 3.0 so I'm not positive.

I have 2.5 in from the stock resonator back to magnaflow mufflers and it sounds very classy and you can tell the difference, no drone and its not annoying. it is NOT loud but just adds tone to the sound, there is a you tube vid of it out there. Its a classy sound, if you go no resonators its quite a bit louder and I've heard it drones so bad that many add resonators to get back to a sound like I have . so if you don't want your audi to sound like Boy Racer then go resonated.

I couldn't hear shit out of my 14829 mags before I took my res off. BTW I'm 1.8t also but I vote no res.

go with a non res.. that big ass suitcase that is there right now will not give you any sound on your car... it will sound sound like stock.. really it will be a waste. take out the res.. a little drone at low RPM but driving around no drone.. im actually putting in a test pipe and completeing full turbo back piping because when i downshift on the highwat you cant really hear it which is eh.. i wanted to sound badass when i downshift.. soo.. id say take out res... def take out res. trust me u will be happy.

I left my resonators on and it sounds awesome. I have a 3.0 though so I'm not much help.

Sorry I need to update that. I had a 2003 3.0 quattro 6spd, but I totaled it (refrigerator in the middle of the freeway at 10pm at night). So I got a 2004 A4 1.8T USP 6spd on Saturday...it's all stock.

Well, that's what everyone wants :))) And everyone is trying to modify their exhaust for the sound/drone they like.
U would get a drone either way, i'm not saying a lot, but still...
Do what EuroAleksey did, he cut his stock mufflers, and it sound very nice... Dont know about the drone though.

I have 2.5" from the flex pipe to the "Y" then 2" to each muffler (14851's) with no resonators. It sounds awesome! i love it! Its gets a drone when you step on it but if you cruise on the freeway 65-75 all you hear is a little exhaust note... no drone at all! Pm me if you have any more questions about it.
