Pop noise when I hit the brakes

Hey.. need some help with a issue I have with my Avant. 25 or 30% of the time when I hit my brakes I'll get a pop from the right wheel area. The left will do it 10% of the time. It does it forward or backwards also.
I took it to a mechanic and he checked it out and said nothing was loose but he couldn't "hear" it when he drove it. seems to be getting worse as time goes by. Could it be brake pads moving around? Need to get this solved. Thanks

pads separating from the backing plate. Replace the pads and you should be good.
