Bank1 Bank2! Where is it?

So I got below codes for my 3.0 v6

P0153 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank2, Sensor1)
P0431 - Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

I've been searching for more than an hour and I am totaly confused as to which is bank1 and which is bank2. Here is my understanding, please let me know if this is right

Sitting inside the car (facing the engine )
Bank1 is left
Bank2 is right

So for a LHD car
Bank1 is driver side
Bank2 is passenger side

You should be looking for a real "bank" because those codes might cost you a few bux. Is your car a CPO?

I just finished replacing the cats on the right side (when you are sitting inside the car) for a whooping 950$$ .. and what do i get? these... Now am I am totally confused as to which side I should have actually changed the cats ?

have you changed the O2S's yet? might as well change both banks becuase usually if one goes, the other isn't falling far behind. iirc bank 1 is the pass side.

I am not in a good position to change both at the moment . Moreover I already have a new sensor with me which I want to use to stop the codes from throwing up again. So as per what you are saying I changed the cat for the wrong side? I got the code for bank2 cat and I changed the pass side cats.

yep.. should have done that.. but doesnt it need cutting out the old OE cats and welding the new magnaflow generic precats?

nono... sounds like you changed the right cat, now you just need the sensor.

Nope the dealer quoted 3.5k for the labour so I got it done by a local mechanic. His work was neat except for changing the wrong cat

Well I guess my next step would be to replace the driver side sensor 1 with the new one that I have with me now and the foul the sensor 2. I guess that should do it!
