Anyone running these e-codes in the states?

I just got a new OEM (Hella) halogen set, and am hoping they are direct plug & play (looks like it)

an autopart guy had a set in Ohio somehow, so i snatched em up!

oempl.us might be able to get a set from Germany but they'll probably cost over $500

Over $800 through PG Performance when I bought a set 3 years ago. Now I'm running US allroad lamps...a bit less expensive and they look great. The high beams are better anyway.

    Was the $800+ for Xenons?

Check them out before you throw the box away.

I just bought two Euro Spec lights and they came from either China or Hong Kong. All the "Hella" logos were scratched off and there were no connectors inside the lights; everything was joined by black electrical tape.

    I was hosed.

    I hope you're not.

I a fully aware of the eBay chinese "euro" lights and have even exposed those in this forum. I exercise "buyer beware" constantly...

    Exclamation Re: C5 E-code headlights

I've just been burned by the Hong Kong bandits and I'm looking for the best source for NEW Audi A6 2.7T Quattro AWD Xenon headlights (Genuine Hella).
I also need them quickly so that I can drive at night.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, and I have a set in the classifieds. Just trying to get more info if they'll fit the wide fenders of the 4.2 because the docs say they won't.

I've also got the ecode single xenons on mine (see gallery). The pics of those city lights looks pretty white, like philips bluevision citylight bulbs. Must just be camera exposure, or lens problem with your housings. The beam pattern on yours doesn't look like it does for the xenons, not sure if that's what they're supposed to look like for halogen or not, but your pattern looks like a wild solar flare going on lol, not very clean. I think you might have a problem with them. Linked a pic from some guys website with the ecode xenons, notice the clean cutoff and 2 controlled flares.

    Mine>

Linked pic, mine have the same beam pattern as below.

    Re: C5 E-code headlights

the 4.2 a6 headlights will not fit the normal a6, because of the face lift, i use to have the 02-04 bi/xenon headlights and there was a gap between the headlight and the grill and i didnt car cause you couldnt see that much, but then i bought the Ecode healidhgts and retroed TSX projectors in them, its awsome.

    Re: C5 E-code headlights

The ones I have for sale are the bi-xenons for facelift models. Just don't know if they will fit the fenders of the 4.2 since the hella docs say they fit all but the V8, but they look exactly the same and there are NO other part # for V8 models to be found.

edit, I know they will fit, just lots of confusion of if they will wire properly. I don't see why they wouldn't. Plug and everything is the same as all models. Just audi messing with so many part # for different models than neccessary.

The problem is the length I think and or wiring/plug connection. Grille design and height isn't the issue. I've got them at $765

I did the same thing and noticed this. I ordered 2 sets of euro tail lights, one from the honk kong ebayer and the ones from ECS at double the cost.

ECS came in the HELLA boxes, had the 4 ring logo scratched out on one housing, and stickers on the bottom stating they are hella and made in china. When I order euro parts, I expect them to be made in GERMANY, not VW china.

On closer inspection with night photos, I noticed the ECS ones are a lot brighter but more pink, while the vagteam ones are deeper red and match the LED brakelight color, and have a muted jewel effect to them. The ECS, you can almost see the circular outline of the bulb even not using the brakes. I didn't like it. So I kept the kongs. Though I've read others buying from him and the quality of the plastic not being up to spec on the foglights he has compared to the ones that are 100 a piece.

It's a shame more of the A6rs don't tool around with ecodes compared to the more common A4 crowd of modders. The city lights really set these housings off in dusk when driving past.
