Paddles shifters not working from factory?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
'08 A4 2.0T non-sline Frontrack CVT here. I have the 4 spoke steering wheel with the paddle shifters. They can be clicked and the "+" and "-" buttons light up but they don't do anything!
I had an '08 loaner base model but Quattro and the paddles work. Are my paddles supposed to be working? If so, can a vag-com fix this or should I take it to the dealer?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

shouldn't matter where the shifter is. if he hits the paddles, the tranny should switch into discrete-shifting-mode automatically and the display will change too. after about 10 seconds of not hitting either of the paddles (or sliding the shifter right then left) the tranny will go back to normal D.

Yes I put it in manual mode and get the 1-7 numbers in the DIS. In that mode I can only shift with the "+" and "-" in the gearbox but not with the paddles.

You have the same problem of paddles not working on a factory fitted steering wheel with paddles? If they light up just make sure ya didnt by accident change the vag com settings. I forgot what they are exactly. They were either on here or on audiforums.

Either way, read this thread: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...addle-Shifters it should lead you to a fix if you are "also" having an issue.

This is exactly how my 2006 used to work, but in the last year or so, I can only use the paddle shifters in tip or S mode not D. Nothing happens when I press the paddles in D mode.
