tapping noise near ignition

Hey guys...
I might run the risk of sounding like a newb here, but has anyone experienced a slight "tapping" noise coming from near the ignition area while driving? The best way I can describe it is it sounds as if I have a heavy key ring that is tapping against the dash while i drive. It is definitly coming from behind the dash. It typically happens when i start the car up in the morning, and continues for about 3-4 miles into my drive. Car is an '08 2.0T quattro that just hit 11k.
Any clue what this could be?

I get a little tapping every now and then... I haven't been able to localize it, though... it sounds like it may be coming from behind the dash somewhere. :/

I have kind of the same thing. Almost always in the morning and sometimes when I leave work I get a three tick sound. Right when I start moving in 1st gear it goes, tick tick tick and then it's gone...

Speaking of climate control, usually when I turn off my A/C it sounds like a jet engine shutting down. Obviously not as loud, but it still kind of sounds like it. I've just assumed that it's normal...

i have the clicking/tapping noise too... it happens like every 2 seconds when i first start the car and start moving....

haha i get that too, pretty noticeable when the stereo is off.

i also get that ticking sound the first 10 minutes of driving, i thought it had something to do with the climate control but not sure...

It's the climate control.

Yeah, my car does it as well. Climate control. I only notice it when it is going on and off when the in-car temp is close to ambient.
