    about to order the new avic 900bt......i searched the forum but im still confused as that i don't understand what exactly i need...what is everything i need to make the avic f900 work in our car

    the unit.. a harness (can only order online.. most retailers won't carry it)... and a trim kit ..

    make sure the harness is designed to have preouts to the bose amplifier.. (assuming you have the bose system)

    although a custom trim would make it look way better.

    i have the bose system...so should i just get the metra wire harness and trim kit nd call it a day

    dont forget you also need an antenna adapter

    i wanna say its a 40vw10 but i would double check that

    should i get the antenna adapter set or a amplified adapter cuz there are two amplified adapters so i don't know which to choose...sorry for all the questions i searched and found some things but not all i'm just trying to make my cousins life easier when he installs it

    you want the one that goes from the weird vw one we have to the one that looks like a normal antenna(male). if you can, i would get an amplified antenna. I believe the normal non amplified antenna you would need would be the 40vw10, im not sure what the amplified version is.

    i went to metraonline.com the metra website and they don't have 40vw10...they 2 different amplified tho

    Thanks again josh for that info. I was about to do my aftermarket install and needed to order the harness and antenna adapter. I am going to wrap my metra dash kit in CF along with the rest of the trim.

    thats a good idea about wrapping your dash kit in carbon...what do you think about alcantra or suede
