Coming up on 55k Miles: Couple of Questions!

Hey guys,

I'm about to hit the 55k marker and I had some questions:

1. 50,000 Service: Well, I received a letter from Audi reminding me to bring it in for my 50,000 service. What kind of work is done with this service? Is it really necessary? How much should I be expecting to pay?

2. Oil Changes: I just passed the 5k marker since my last oil change and I was wondering if it would be too risky to delay my next oil change till about 10k miles. I am really broke at the moment and would love to save the $90. I switched to Castrol Syntec and heard that there is nothing wrong with dragging it to 10k.

service at the stealership? hm.... cant say i've done that. You can find online what they do for 50K service or get a print out from them, and do it yourself that's what i did. Plus it gives you an idea what can be done now and what can wait. Good luck

Should I take it to another place for the service? Is it reliable?

If money is tight(like me) just piece together what is needed and do it yourself. Its not hard and you will feel better knowing that, 1. you saved money and 2. you did it yourself. I always feel good after I repair my car myself. Maybe its just me.

its not much to DIY:

oil/filter
plugs
air filter (cabin filter if u want)
fuel filter
