Hey guys, was planning on doing some upgrades to my suspension. Posted this topic a while back about how much I should lower my car and was debating what type of coilovers I should buy. But, I was thinking that since I would never track my car, and just use it purely as a daily drive, then why spend 3 to 4 grand when I could achieve a similar level of style with some nice H&R springs for a fraction of the cost.
Any comments/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

With only springs, your shocks will wear faster. Coilovers do not cost 3-4 grand. Stasis SS are around 1300, bilstien pss9 are in the 2k range, and H&R coilovers are in the upper 1k range. Unless you plan on getting coilovers like Stasis tracksport or motorsport..

I got my H&R coilovers for around 1200 shipped. CO's are the way to go. Dont waste your time with springs to get that bouncy honda ride.

Coilovers are the way to go. If you are looking for a slightly less expensive option that
works then replace springs and struts (i.e. H&R/Koni Yellows)

I was were you are. I went COs. I did H&Rs I think like 1200 shipped, I have since tracked the car with them. They are very good on the track as well.

    Re: Suspension

I bought Vogtland coilovers from Pure Motorsport (purems.com). Shipped to my door for less than $1200. A marked improvement in ride quality over the stock suspension. Slightly stiffer but not jarring by any stretch. I like them alot more compared to the H&R Coils I had on my B5 S4. There was a bad/very annoying squeaking noise that developed about a month after install but that turned out to be the control arms NOT the coilovers. All in all, they have to be the best bargain on the B6 coilover market.

    Re: Suspension

although my car is stock, i would recommend CO too. Ive had plenty experience with other cars with just swapping out the OEM springs for lowered ones and leaving the stock shocks in there. Ride quality was shit. Dont do it. Like said, if you want to lower, go with coil overs. Worth every penny.

Why waste the extra money? Why not just use H&R's shocks that come with the CO's?

    Re: Suspension

Yea I'm most probably going to go with CO's. But I heard the H&R coilovers give a bumpy ride, how do you like yours?
