    DIRTY sensor?

Changed my coolant sensor today due to my radiator fan making my car sound like a F-16 every startup.

Is it normal for my sensors to look like this?

And by the way, the clip that goes on the sensor tube is a B*TCH to get on. I've mastered it if anyone needs to change this sensor. Give me a ring.

If that residue can be wiped off it's just dryed up coolant (normal). The smaller hands the better when trying to get the clip on that fvcker lol...

What is the trick to getting this damn thing on. I just broke the clip any ideas where I can get these. There is a small volkswagon dealership in town but the parts dept is closed on the weekends plus it seems whenever I need something they always have to order it.

You should be able to pick up one at the VW dealership. Part #032-121-142. Buy two, they're cheap. You might want to try putting a little Vaseline on the "O" ring when inserting the new sensor to help seat it all the way down. If it is sitting up just a fraction the clip will not go on.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the tip and the response back. I tried that and even tried puting lube around the base of the sensor and on the clip itself and no luck, broke the damn thing. Funny thing is that I got the bigger metal c-clip retainer that goes on the base of the crank case breather tube on with no problem but yet this little plastic clip that goes on this sensor is fighting me the whole way. Yea the part is cheap but I'll just have to wait until the dealership opens monday. Thanks for the advice though.
