    Wheel Bearing Help

So I'm tired of listening to my rear bearing roar and I had two question and am hoping that some of you might be able to help. First, is there a specific brand that you guys recommend? I found one from ecs tuning and was ready to order it but just wanted to chime in and see if any of you have had any luck with them. Secondly, I read in a write up that it is a good idea to mark your alignment so that it gets pretty close when you go to install everything back. Do you guys just recommend that I go get an alignment or will this get me pretty close. I hope you guys can help.

    Re: Wheel Bearing Help

I purchased mine from PureMS.com , that one was SKF brand. My mechanic refused to install it fearing the brand I got of the "internet" until I told him it was SKF, then he reluctantly said OK since it was the same brand he was trying to sell me.

I got mine from www.germanautoparts.com - At the time they had it for very cheap, literally almost half of what other places were charging for the same brand. I think it was a pricing mistake... this was during the summer, check them out. Regardless I order from German Auto Parts all the time and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

    agree, top place for parts

As far as the alignment; you'll need one after you replace the bearing. Marking the eccentric will get you close for a day or so until you get the proper alignment.

    Re: Wheel Bearing Help

Thanks guys for the responses. I ordered it from ecs for under 60 bucks so it wasn't bad at all. Im going to replace it and order another one to do the other side since it might be close to going also. I've heard of germanautoparts.com before. I will keep those in consideration for the future.

So marking the eccentric will get me close. Can anyone do the alignment such as NTB or do I have to go to the dealer.

    Re: Wheel Bearing Help

Any reliable place should be able to deal with the alignment. I think there's a special tool to centralize the rear subframe, but once again, they should be able to deal with it. One of the best things about germanautoparts, is their shipping rates are fair, unlike ECS who's aren't.

If you bought tires at like a townfairtire they do free alignments when they install tires so you could just go and say can you check my alignment and they should do it for free.

Yeah, thats pretty much the only reason I've never and will probably never order from ECS.

I am a regular at www.germanautoparts.com and www.autohausaz.com. I use autohausaz for their $50+ free shipping, when I'm ordering something heavy or lots of somethings... like 5L jugs of oil, of which shipping can get expensive and there aren't any local places that sell top quality oil.
