    Re: N75

No need for stand alone. That's not needed for anything in Stg 2+ territory.

Just replace the N75, it's not expensive and a simple repair. Running a MBC won't make the CEL go away, and leaving the N75 unhooked or faulty will result in "limp mode" and decreased power.
MBC is an option, but you will have to bypass the N75 connector w/ ~30ohm resistor.

    Re: N75

Nice to know there's actually a specific code for the N75 valve. I would just replace it with the Race Version from ECS Tuning. It's only $86.

That makes my decision to get it as a precautionary measure easy. Just wait until a code is thrown.

    Re: N75

The location of the N75 is in the circle on top left of pic with an arrow pointing to it.

The other day I made a REALLY fast DIY, but it's all you need to know on how to change it out... Disregard the rest of the picture I was also instructing someone on how to change diverter valves...

    OK READY..

    Removing N75..

    1. Remove Clamp 1 in picture, get pliars, its a bitch to get off pry them together and put it on the Y pipe for now....

    2. Remove Clamp 2 on Mass AirFlow Meter

    3. Pull the clip holding the electrical connection to they N75 off, this will allow you to pull that plug off very easily

    4. Push the n75 towards the firewall... it will be easier to work with

    5. The N75 is shaped like a T, there are 3 hoses going to it. Remove all the hoses, just remember their orientation. One from the left, right and bottom. Have FUN with the Audi ONE time clamps. Struggle a bit, makes you love/hate the car more

    6. Install N75 in the same orientation. Nothing tricky here just use normal clamps, go to home depot get screw clamps small enough to fit on those hoses and tighten them. You MAY want to use dish detergent or something slippery to rub a small bit on the stems of the new N75 so the hoses slip right on...

    Re: N75

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't running a different N75 cause erratic or undesirable behavior if your tune is meant for a different one as they act (spike/hold/etc) differently?

it can for sure that's why its best to just get the N75 that came stock with our car. No need for the race valve.
