    Re: dealer question

well its your cluster that's making the noise not the headlight switch. I think you are fine and not have to do anything but do as you please. Just remember the have to prove to you that the headlight mod caused the noise in the cluster.

    Re: dealer question

did you cut your wires or just use electrical tape? either way I don't think that they will take out the headlight switch to fix the cluster. They might but if you used tape, there really isn't a way to see it.

    Re: dealer question

I wouldn't worry one bit. the chances of them taking your headlight switch out and apart aren't likely. and if they do just play dumb and say you don't know what it is.

i finally droped off my car at the dealer. they called me said they think the noise that my cluster is making is coming from a module thats mounted on the streeing colum.

Yes it is. It's hard to explain but theres two brackets located inside of the steering column that prevent the whole structure from swaying left to right. I don't know why they put it in there because the screws pretty much keep it in place, but I'm sure it has its purposes. That two brackets have a tendency to move around a bit though as the fitments are not perfect, creating the vibrating noise that you are hearing. I'm interested though as to hear what Audi will do to fix it, but what I did was taking the steering column off, glued chamois rags into the brackets themselves so that the metal on metal contact would be eliminated, and it fixed the problem entirely.

    Re: dealer question

i see. but this is not my problem the cluster it self is making like a staticy sound. its hard to explaine. kinda like when you have the tv on but the sound is off. it does this all the time when the car is on. and when i shut the car off it. makes the same typ of noise out of the speakers.
