Wheel Alignment Question..

Is a 4 wheel alignment on a quattro a dealer job only or what. I was told by 3 different shops that they could not do it because they have to drop the sub frame and they didnt have the tools to do it. Can an audi specialist mechanic do this job. Any body in the SoCal OC know of a shop that can do this. I really dont want to fork out a grip of $$$$$ at the dealer. Thanks guys....

you can have it done elsewhere but the most common way to NOT do it at the dealer is go to some old school place that doesn't put the car on rails meaning it can stay on the ground. I got mine done at the dealer since it was no hassle and it cost me $130

To my knowledge most people with newer alignment equipment can do it. I got mine done for $60.

look for a shop with a machine in the name of "GSP hunter something or other".. it's the most accurate with lazers and shit., i got mine done for 120 or something.

if it is lowered and your have quattro this is false. On a saturday I went around to see if anyone other than the dealer could do it and 12 shops told me they couldn't do it face to face in a two hour span.

Well i do have Quattro and it sits on sport suspension with 19's. On saturday i went to this place called Super Auto Bacs in Stanton, Ca (for those in the O.C.) and they have some newer equipment. Every body says its a dealer job only because you have to drop the sub-frame to adjust the camber and they dont have tools for that. Oh well thanks for the info...

Take your car to Johnson's Alignment in Torrance...

Hawthorne near 190th...

They have been in business since 1945, you will not get a better alignment in SoCal...

Everything is oldschool there, including a pit to do lowered cars.

I brought my car to a REAL oldskool shop that had a projector and mirrors and stuff to do an aligment, My car was pretty low at the time so they used the pit. Came out pretty good.
