Anyone on here have one? I'm pretty close to trading my A6 in on one a 2004 Ultra packaged one with 12,000 miles on it. I was pretty shocked when I went on a test drive, not only does it feel roomier than a 750, it seemed faster. I'm pretty much sold on it I just wanted to know if anyone on here had some words of advice on it... thanks in advance!

yeah well B5's look old to but there still tight! I love its looks, Im gonna bag it and go full vip style on it, I just know its a very popular car and was wondering if anyone on here had one.

And yeah the new ones are tight, but too much money and just too big for me, the LS is pretty much perfect, not to mention has recieved more praise than the new gen.

I've owned several Lexus vehicles, they are incredibly built and super reliable.

    Re: Lexus LS430

my friends RX330 has all kinds of problems with the transmission, wiring, engine mounts, and another friend with a IS350 has wheel bearing noises, tire pressure monitor freak warnings (tire pressure is fine) and smart key problems (says "key not detected" while hes driving and the car shuts off in the middle of the road)

if your going to get a lexus because you think its reliable, its not going to be any better than everything else out there. at least a 7 series is stink cheap now and the 745's engine won "engine of the year" and "best new engine" for 2002. if it was me I'd go for the real deal than a re badged Toyota.

    Re: Lexus LS430

Though I hate Lexus, the newer LS's are my favorite. The old ones just look so awful, but the newer body style looks great. I think the 2004 still looks dated. I'd stick with Audi.

    Re: Lexus LS430

My dad had his LS430 for almost 7 years without a problem before moving on to a MB S550. Whenever he sees one on the road he'll always tell me how much he misses his old LS. He regrets selling it and wishes he would've kept it around as a second car. So, I'd say go for it, it's a great car, and can now be had for pretty cheap.

The ultimate old man vehicle. Even if you mod it, you will just look like an elderly old fart. Sorry to shit on your parade but i think you can do better.

I work in paradise valley and i see dozens and dozens of them every day. I have driven lots of them and i can't stand the soundproof-cocoon, detached-from-road, mushy-soft feeling you get when you are inside one.

But like you said they have powerful engines and are incredibly comfortable. So go for it but don't be surprised when people start putting fliers on your windshield for tuesday night bingo.

I just sold my 750li, I'm not gonna go buy another one.

I dont know too many old farts that have LS430's that look like these..

and it's possible that an A8L just got thrown into the mix, I found an 04 CPO'd (100k) metallic black one with 32k on the clock for $24 at a dealer.

really? look i got a 7, i get the appeal of reliablity and relatively stable depreciation of a lexus, but you cant go previous gen ls430, its just not the same class of car man.if this was talk on the new gen LS460, im with ya 100%

ps the ls430 is not in the same league, performance wise, as the bimmer

^^^agreed...Lexus is by far the most reliable vehicle in its class. When will people stop being ignorant with the re-badged terminology.

    Audi is a re-badged VW...CONGRATULATIONS

There is no contest which manufacturer makes a more reliable car, Lexus/Toyota > BMW/Audi/VW/MB/Everything... yes even Honda Acura

Not only that, they hold up better in the long term. I don't hear of window moldings, and glove box failures or AC issues with high mileage/older Lexus.

    Re: Lexus LS430

Yeah you won't be unhappy. My father drives an '05 LS430 with the sport package on it and it's been great. He just hit 50k miles on it and it feels just as solid as day one. We also have a 1990 LS400 parked in the driveway that my father bought new back in 1989. It has just over 78k miles on it and it's still solid as a rock. They're reliable cars. Their customer service is great (Top notch next to Infiniti -- then again, the MB and Audi dealers near me suck ass). Repair bills are expensive but thats the case with any luxury car. You won't be disappointed. They're quick for a big car, and I'll be honest, I like the previous generations body style way more than the current one.

i couldn't agree more. I have had my 08' lexus is250 for a year without a single problem. I purchased an audi 2 years ago, and within the same time frame; the audi was in the shop at least 8 times. Lexus makes an excellent product.

I would def get a LS over a 7 series. Nothing really beats the LS in its class...Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong. They are not meant for performance. I have not been in a car quieter than the LS...Simply amazing with the additional benefit of reliability
