    Water Under Battery

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I recently noticed a big puddle of water under my car and after looking under the hood i found an inch of standing water under the battery. Is there a drain somewhere that has just been clogged? Where would it be located?

    Re: Water Under Battery

leaves are probably clogging the drains beneath the battery. battery is easy to pull out but heavy to lift

if its anything like s4, which it should be, there are drains on the left and right of the battery, about an inch in diameter.

yup there are drains under the battery and like others have said its most likely just got leaves or crud clogging them, since you are in there and have the cowling off you should also check the drain behind the ecu box, an the one that is above your cabin filter to make sure they are clear as well, could save you from doing the job twice.

    Re: Water Under Battery

Definitely two drains in my 96 and 98 B5's; one under the battery pan (must remove battery to clean), and the other directly below the brake booster...have made it a habit to check and give them a spray from the hose once a year. Easier than mopping up the interior if they became clogged.
