I need some interior ideas and inspiration

Ok, so I've done a lot of work to my interior, and I'm so close to being sorta done that it's painful. I keep procrastinating about getting the headliner removed and trimmed in alcantara. The big question is this: what color? I have a nearly completely black interior, and I'm not sure if I should stick with that, or go with a dark grey, or maybe even dark blue or white alcantara for the seats. This would bring me to the question of color for the headliner. Should I keep the alcantara the same color on seats and headliner? I need ideas here guys. Right now the car is Ming Blue, but I may have it wrapped in something else, possibly something bright and eye-catching. So I don't necessarily want blue on the interior, unless it's on parts that are easily changed out, like the beltline trim or floor mats. I'm also thinking of having the engine bay, inside of the trunklid, and some other areas painted a matte black, so when I do have the car wrapped it won't have one color of vinyl, and then ming blue on the door jams and such. Any thoughts or suggestions? Possibly some pics from other cars for inspiration?

Your right, too much black will look a little off. It looks good but for what your doing, it needs to be above and beyond. A dark gray would look good, and you could maybe match the seats and pillars with it.

With the amount of effort you're putting into this, I'd say try to think about what you'll enjoy the most long term. Its tempting to try flashy things because they are different, but if you'll become tired with the look, not worth it IMO. Sorry, that's the best advice I can give.

Yeah, that's why I don't want anything to flashy. I'm shooting for the OEM+ look, but a bit on the classy/luxurious side, while also being sporty.

I think I'm gonna use a black alcantara on the headliner, pillars, and possibly the parcel shelf, and a nice light grey on the doors, seat inserts, and the glovebox and panel under the steering column. Then I'll have silver stitching on the seats to match the alcantara.

^^i like that idea, but i really think a mocha color would look bad ass on Ming Blue, if u don't see it the same way do a gray headliner instead of black will feel more open.

Well, I had tan interior to start with, and I just don't really like any shades of brown for this car. I may go with a dark grey for the headliner, like a gunmetal or anthracite.

No offense, but that doesn't look good IMO. Too many colors (grey handles and visors, red sunroof, grey sunroof trim, and black ultrasuede), but you did give me an idea

Yeah, I remember seeing that thread. IMHO, a horrible idea, and it doesn't look anything close to OEM. There's a fine line between cool and tacky, and that crossed over into tacky. As for motivation, I just need to stop buying wheels on Ebay (Up to my 5th set from there now) and not let the crappy British weather get me down. Plus I have to remove my headliner and give it to the shop that's doing this, which means I will have to drive my car for at least a week without a headliner or pillar covers.

Ok, I'm leaning even further toward a charcoal or anthracite color for the headliner and pillars, and a gunmetal grey for the seat and door inserts, with matching stitching.
