How many of you have had the CVT fluid line just tear on it's own?

Yeah.. Driving around, and the transmission felt really weird and I pull over only to notice that the car is spilling it's guts all over the ground, and when I took the undercover off to inspect the CVT fluid line actually put a tear in itself! I had to buy a new line ($250 for orginal, $97 for the same part but older design/part number) and I decided to get the transmission flushed and Audi of Henderson was great as usual with the service but WOW, has anyone else have this happen? I'm just glad it didn't fry the transmission.

Yeah just FYI, if it feels like it's slipping more than usual, the fluid line probably got emo.

happened to me a few months ago, was in the shop for a day and then when i got it back it was a little rough and overall just kind of annoying, i took it in again thinking it was pointless because theyre not going to do anything because i say its "annoying and rough", they call me a few hours after i drop it off saying theyre throwin a new tranny in it, im glad all i payed for was the rental.

this shite happened to me last night minus the puddle of fluid underneath. The dealer told me they found a pin hole sized hole somewhere in one of the hoses. It was raining last night and I thought I was loosing traction because I had the ESP on. I'm hoping the transmission isn't fried.

As long as you didn't lose as much fluid as me it should be fine(I pulled over and turned the car off immediately so no damage was done), but yeah it feels weird because it's a high pressure hose and obviously with the hole it isn't anymore. I had like a half inch long tear, it was a perfect line.

Re: How many of you have had the CVT fluid line just tear on it's own?

I got my car back last Friday but didn't drive much over the weekend. Monday comes, I jump on the express way and punch it to pass someone. It shifts and then jerks. Long story short, I'm getting my transmission replaced under warranty.

    My questions:
    1. If there was a leak or tear in a transmission hose, shouldn't there be a mess somewhere?

    2. I haven't had taken off the covers underneath the car so I'm not sure how they look. Is it possible that I would have never seen a mess because it would have collected in this cover?

    3. Anyone have experience with warranty replaced, rebuilt transmissions from Audi? I was told I get 12K, 12 month warranty on it.

Thanks in advance for you rinput!

Yeah, depending on the size of the hole, there should be SOMETHING there, it's a high-pressure hose so it will come out.

And yeah it will collect, but it's only a matter of time before it drips down.. for us it was pouring.

    Sorry I couldn't respond faster!
It's been running great ever since.. no experience with rebuilt transmissions from Audi.
