tail light bulb holder

no bulb holder to mount onto a 97? what the hell do they look like?

Wasn't quite sure what you were asking. I think you wanted a picture of the facelift bulb holders, Correct?

awesome man thanks a lot for taking the time to do that, now i know what i need lol. Im about to go to a junkyard soon to check some audis out before i bite the bullet for the dealer. ($60 for both holders)

so if i can find the bulb holders off a 98.5 or 99 or better yet 2000-2002, all those bulb holders will work correct?

I believe so, Not 100% positive though. I upgraded mine from the 98.5 style to the newer ones a while back. I didn't notice any difference in the holders, but then I really didn't check for any either since my new tails came with the holders and bulbs already in them. What you could do is just take your tail light with you and see if the holder fits before buying it.

Also maybe you already know but your gonna have to do a little rewiring. Here's a write-up for that LINK . The write up says to open up the harness but I found that easier said then done. I ended up just cutting the wires below the harness and connecting them appropriately with electrical butt connectors.

thanks man for the input, i do know about the re wiring thing. and im pretty sure ill just try and find a 1999.5 to a 2001 bulb holder or ill just try and see if any 98-99 will work. Im almost sure they will both work but ill let you guys know what happens.
