    Boost gauge install (w/pics)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Did the install a couple weeks ago but got pics today. Its a Prosport Gauge + Podi Pod (podi fit PERFECT) the lens is smoked and its a electric stepper motor. The gauge lights up White or amber depending on how you wire it. I wired it for white all the time but it was way too bright for long night drives (eyes get fatigued). So i went to radio shack and got a switch. Now i can switch through amber or white when ever i want

if you need details on how to do this let me know but its way simple.

    do you see the switch?^

    Re: Boost gauge install (w/pics)

thanks for the comments guys the gauge looks bluish in that pic but its just super bright white

the only disappointing thing is the amber color doesn't match the red in the cluster but i never rarely use it unless im driving far at night (it still looks good tho)

I'll be interested to see your opinion on those gauges. I was close to getting them as well but a number of sites on the internet say they are poor quality and dont last very long. Hopefully you experience is better.

    Re: Boost gauge install (w/pics)

Yea i read similar threads all over but most were happy with it and i have tested it for accuracy and its good.

The vac hose it comes with is shitty and would never recommend using it so $5 Goodyear hose from Autozone fixed that. Another thing that was bad was the wires coming out the boost sender were shorter that what is needed for a smooth install but still worked well.

overall the gauge is working great 4 months now and ive gotten alot of compliments on its brightness and clarity during the day

Looks really good, how much did it all cost you? Like the sunshades as well.

It never gets in the way it only covers from 0 to about 10mph max it looks super clean and oem, and it makes it way easier and fun too look at wile your driving as compared to the vent gauge. but they both are sweet its really up to you

Mine does the same thing, i am guessing it is because there's a tiny bit of suction in the system when your engine is shut off.

I'd assume if it rested at zero, it could mean that the forced induction system is sitting at atmospheric pressure, indicating air is leaking in and out somewhere. but this is all speculation
