You guys REALLY thought someone was using a R8 as a taxi?... LOL...

My guess is that this taxi costume was done as a joke or prank by someone's wealthy friend or wife, on the guy's R8 while he was away from home. I'm sure its just a full body vinyl wrap. In USA this would cost less than 2,000 Euros.
Most race car fans don't know how common these vinyl wraps are. Every car on the ALMS race circuit is NOT painted. They are ALL vinyl wraps, that are completely stripped away after every race. There is nothing damaged on a car, even after a whole season of several wraps. I have a balled up vinyl from an Audi ALMS car like this one.
