I'm getting mine done sometime in the near future at Scan Automotive in North Vancouver. They have quoted me $1300 for the job. I'm just saving up a little more to get some other goodies installed at the same time.

there are lots of VW/Audi specialists in the lower mainland, i would try to go for one of those guys rather than an all makes shop.
as far as who's good and who's not, i don't know, i do all my own work.

how many km's on the car? if your car is registered with audi canada, They have been sending out extended warranty letters for timing belts, or google and find well known tuners in your area, make sure the tuner displays a certificate showing they belong to the Better business Berau, one my tuners here in central alberta charged me $1100 at the end of the day, The stealership wanted $1400, shop around man, look on the canada forum and look for a guy named "ripplechip" he has a whole page of listings from the eastern side of canada all the way to the westcoast of canada, good luck

the car's a 2000 with 103K so i don't think the extended warrenty extends to mine. It's going into german motor car on tuesday, they wanted $1350. Let you know how i get on

just got the car back, the guys down at german motor car were very professional, the loaner was a clean 99 jetta which i didn't get charged for, and the work came in below estimate. They called me when they found that I had a dead temperature sending unit, even uncluding that i still came out for less than the original estimate. Doug down there seems like a nice guy, would definitely recommend them, and will be using them again.
