    One year of gas statistics...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

I got into a habit of recording my gas mileage statistics for a little over a year ago and so everytime i pumped gas, I wrote down how much gas cost me, how much i filled in, and how many miles i got until the next fill up. Figured it would be useful to track what type of mpg I'm getting.

So here are the results. My average MPG is about 20.. I guess that's fair considering my driving is 50% city, 50% highway. Gas prices are for premium in the northern virginia area.

Year to date, I've spent about $2000 on gas.

Some data was bad so I took it out (for example if I filled in $25 of gas, or if i forgot to record the miles driven).

    What do you guys think?

The worst it got for me was 4.10 and that was for a day?

Places like Pacific Coast Highway were paying about $6 a gallon i think.

Re: One year of gas statistics...

I've been tracking mine as well. After an oil change, air filter change, new plugs, and dialing back a tiny bit of fuel via lemmiwinks, I've been averaging 24.1mpg all city miles on my 1.8t avant over the last month. I keep track of cost, mpg, miles on the tank, and the cost per mile. It was costing me 19 cents per mile when my car was also not running well and the cost of fuel was high. with the recent drop in prices I'm down to 11 cents per mile on my last tank.

in washington it's like $2.69/gallon where i live for premium. Some places it's cheaper, but they are a 15 min+ drive from my area. The cheapest i've filled up is $38 something when i was in Bothell. But i have a friend who just moved to Oklahoma and he said gas where he is is $1.73/gallon! But he was probably referring to regular unleaded. But still that's amazing, i'd say premium is probably under $2 there still.
