Very understandable. I myself would be a little wary of it myself if I did not know the type of testing that has gone into it. During our design process, we did extensive testing on the street, dyno and track with ambient temperatures above 100º F. We never experienced any issues.
Years ago when we were testing a FMIC for the B5 S4 while we saw power gains, we also so adverse effects on the cars cooling system and AC. This was not something we were willing to produce and decided to shelf. We made sure the same issues didn't come up with this product.

Obviously every company is gonna push its own product but its good to hear how the "real world" likes their stuff. I'll trust a company's word, but in my opinion multiple user reviews are better than a company "tooting its own horn." That's why I use the forum... multiple points of views from like-minded drivers/car owners.
You are right. It is very simple for a company to produce false data that makes their products shine above the rest. That is why I have always thought of the forums as such a powerful tool. It allows consumers to sift through all of the b.s. marketing information out there and share their experiences, both positive and negative, about companies and their products.
If you have any specific questions regarding the development process and testing regimen of our B7 FMIC feel free to ask, I will do my best to answer.
Seeing that you are looking for impressions from end users, I hope that members with firsthand experience with our FMIC will chime in and give their unbiased opinions.
