Finally got a DP to fix my broken flex joint.

Can I pull the cat and dp out the engine bay together and work on the dp bolts out side of the car?

    Re: Down Pipe install question

Its been awhile since I changed mine but I think I was able to yank all that up through the engine bay. It's going to be a tight fit though but you should be able to turn it just right to make it work. Good luck.

    Re: Down Pipe install question

If it's a manual trans you can get it out either way. I take mine out from the bottom. I also don't have a Cat either, so that makes a lot more room.

Tiptronic on the other hand, you have to separate the DP from the cat in the car and pull the DP out the bottom, Cat out the top.

    Re: Down Pipe install question

Its a manual. The flex pipe is totally split through so it shouldn't be an issue. Just getting what is left in the clamp out might be.

well since its in the same topic!

I bought a Borla exhaust for my car and I havent even tried to install it cause it looks pretty complicated any body have any tip on this!

Should I just separate the cat from the turbo and get a test pipe?

    Re: Down Pipe install question

No, that is the "new" down pipe for the system, i also have a new HFC, a magnaflow 14815 and a mangaflow resonator ready to put in. That why i took the whole thing down.

    Re: Down Pipe install question

it went pretty uneventfully. Got the whole thing out the top. But put it back in pieces. dremeled off the clamps and replaced them. Took me a while but I wasn't rushing. Cat bolts were easy. Down pipe bolts were easy enough with the whole thing on the ground and the use of a hammer. If it was in the car removing those bolts would have sucked.
