    the one shown at your engine isnt a good one. Either you get your ECU updated or replaced it with a new one.

    16985 - Internal Control Module: Memory Check Sum Error this one???? and what it do???? is it possible that's my oettinger hip that cause this code???? he is unremovable we can't erase it....

    and is there anyother unsafe code???

    Did this ecu ever have APR software in it? That check sum error was from a disgruntled apr employee back a few years ago now. I didn't think any other software like Oettinger would have this code pop up. Maybe that former APR employee went to Oettinger and screwed them over too...

    Clear the codes and see what pops back up...

    i'm the third owner of the car... perhaps it was apr chipped first.... and then oettinger.... but now he's oettinger chipped and that check sum error.... It's alway there even if i clear all codes :( it still there....

    what should I do???

    Get a different ecu and recode it to your car. Talk to oettinger and see if they can flash the new ecu for free while you give them your current ecu. Clearing codes in vag will never get rid of that code. I do not think there is a way to get rid of a check sum error iirc. You can find used ecu's for as low as $200. Call APR and talk to them. They might be able to give you some better answers.

    It really should not effect anything with your car. You can just live with it if it doesn't bother you that bad. Seriously call up APR and see what they say about it cause I'm almost positive your ecu once had APR software in it.
