What is normal timing under boost for these cars? The threads I've seen showing timing logs seem really low, but I'm also used to dealing with lower compression in a turbo engine.

    total timing btdc.

For instance, on my safe tune I run 24 degrees btdc on pump and 28 on race gas.

yah right. please show me logs to prove that^

you must be at like 5 psi or some shit.
a good timing curve under high boost is anything over 15 degrees imo. 28 would be fanmuthafuckintastic. maybe you live in the polar ice caps where the air is sub zero?

Sorry, should have specified. This is in my other car, 2003 SRT-4. I just picked up a 2000 A6 2.7 a couple months ago, and am in the process of building it up.

The stock compression on an SRT-4 is 8.0:1. And believe me, I wish we had a good logging solution available for that car.

well thankfully VAG has a damn good logging solution. its called VAG-COM. log
and tell / show us what you see for pull and total timing, and at what boost level youre running.

VAG-com is terrible for data logging. If you're serious about collecting data, get ECUx.
    Slow, stock, smurfy blue car.

Relax, I just troll this place for fun.
