We have brought in a A5 to check the feasibility of making an exhaust for the car. I will ask around and see what I can find out for you.

There is no CEL with our downpipes.

In the S5 the downpipes feature a set of resonators, not a catalytic converter as in the B6/B7 S4s.

Yes, the tips are adjustable. You can set it and forget it during the initial install, or change how far they stick out on depending on your mood.

See the clamps above the tips in the picture below? To adjust the tips simply loosen the clamp, slide the tips to where you would like them to be and re-tighten the clamp.

Would you happen to have any pics on the car with the tips set further in? I love the construction, power gain, and sound, but my biggest concern is how far out the tips stick out. Can you only adjust the tips as a 'pair' and not individually?

I don't have pictures of the tips set further in. Perhaps one of the forum members who has our exhaust can provide you with them.

The tips can only be adjusted as a pair. We designed the staggered tip sections of our exhaust to perfectly match the curvature of the bumper. If they were individually adjustable it would be very difficult to obtain that perfect angle every time you adjust your tips. Our tip sections also ensure that the spacing between the tips is perfect.

First:

every stainless steel exhaust grows longer when hot, which makes the tips stick out more than when cold. There is a possibility that the pics above were taken when the exhaust was hot.

Second:

Our tip sections have a slip joint to allow the installer to fine tune the depth that the tips sit within the bumper. This adjustment can be done to accommodate the length growth when hot. That is up to the end user.

Third:

It is very hard to photograph how our tips do visually match the curvature of the bumper. The bumper has a compound curve, so it is difficult to capture in a picture how the tips do indeed follow curves. In person the tips are integrated better than a poor picture can translate.

I recall reading several posts on this forum and other from actual owners who love how the tips look on their car. Trust me, you need to see them in person to fully appreciate how well they fit the car.

For example, see this pic:



Notice how the tips are tucked in nice and tightly to the bumper and there is a stagger to the inner vs outer tip on each pair.

We could have made the stagger even greater, with the outer tip sitting further back than the inner tip, which would follow the lateral curve of the bumper exactly, but that much of a length difference between tips that sit next to each other looks odd in reality.

So our stagger was chosen to visually match the compound curvature of the bumper.

When taking advantage of all our adjustment points, the tips do not have to sit low and long like in the pictures you linked to above.
