    Eliminating Immobilizer

hey guys, heres my situation. My dad has lost his keys for 1998 Audi A4 automatic. he hasnt been able to drive it for like 8 months now because he can't get a key from the dealer abroad because he doesnt have a "deed" which every audi owner should have. we live in the bahamas and theres no dealer here for audi. he purchased the car from a japanese import car dealer which only provided him a bill of sale.

now i understand we need to get a key validated with a dealer. but they want more than just the vin number. they also need proof of original ownership, which we dont have other than we bought it from some other company.

so is it possible to remove the immobilizer from the ecu and be able to drive the car?

or is there any other way in which i can go about getting this thing on the road again.

    Thanks all

any dealer should order a key with registration and a photo ID.

    that is all they require.

No, you can't.... I believe, not running the factory ecu. Even if you get a key from a dealer they have to program it which would require the car at the dealership.

    Re: Eliminating Immobilizer

I know for the dealership that I work at for MB, and we have Audi on our complex....the only thing that is required is a current registration, and driver's license....and as long as the addresses match on both, you should be fine. Only time when you would need a tittle only something like that to get a ey, is if you are a dealer, or is the car is not registered. Hope it helps.
