sounds like a nice setup, might want to boost it up to a 2871 setup for somemore uptop fun.

For the extra bit $ its worth going to the 2871R. Whats the reason for no testpipe?

Greg has had both and we saw no difference between his full 2871r and the Elim 2871r he has now. They all seemed to max out at 7k rpms and this is most likely caused by the small port head and stock cams.

he is in new hampshire, cat is required. i'm in the same boat. it's a pain in the ass to swap a cat in for a weekend every year just for inspection.

as soon as mine is paid off i hope to flip it over into a 2005 white USP 6 speed and then go 3071r........ we'll see, i got a couple more years.

You got it. That and the fact that to my knowledge, the Revo BT software code is written for an exhaust with a cat anyway. And the last car with a TP I was in, every time we came to a stop I was soaked in gas fumes. No one drives an Audi and wants that....

It has been my experience that once you get into 19" + rim sizes you start to compromise the ride and handling characteristics of the car. No thanks, not going that route again.

You mean $600 over the cost of the Stasis SS right?

yes, if you happen to be in a GB, you can get StaSIS SS for 900 shipped, if you are buying alone then it's like 1000 shipped.

Bilstein PSS9 is like 1600 shipped from MJM

That's BS, my factory wheels are 18's and they are a small difference from the ride on my 20's

Yeah, I know the PSS9's are bad ass, but I probably won't be putting the car in situations beyond the capability of the Stasis SS, i.e. not tracking the car.

    Re: The Master Plan

forget about the 710n, if you really want to stay with a DV just get a forge or another metal piston DV. there are absolutely zero downsides to them, and anything about them sticking or breaking is basically hearsay. trust me, they're almost completely maintenance free (i cleaned/greased mine ONCE in over 28k) and they'll never tear or break on you.

also, REVO BT software comes with a cat-delete "program" or whatever you want to call it. you can run a TP no problem, and trust me when i say that you're not going to smell gas and exhaust fumes unless you have a BAD exhaust leak under the hood. (and i didn't even really smell it then... i had one at my mani>turbo and DP>rest of exhaust)

as long as you know a place that won't go digging around to find your cat you're cool. if you're super paranoid - get a GTRS or 71r elim (remember, there's been no real proven difference in overall power except that a GTRS spools faster) and that TP that looks like a cat. take a dremmel and grind off the "offroad use" plaque, or just put something over it like a little sticker (say it's something from the factory for inspection, it really doesn't matter)

and i'd strongly urge you to get a MBC or EBC to use instead of your n75. made a night and day difference on my car, and others have reported the same thing - no matter what tuning you're running. mostly it gives a steeper ramp up to boost instead of letting the n75 gradually bleed it off so that it builds slower/smoother.

oh and KW coils are the best

Ride...maybe, handling/performance. Big difference. This is what I never understood about people putting 19's and 20's without upgrading their brakes. This added rotational mass of the wheel will drastically affect your braking and performance. Bigger isn't always better.

What did you buy an Audi for look or speed? Cuz honestly lets see you break a 12 with an over 3000lb car. you should have bought a Honda and trailored that bitch. You buy and Audi for looks and style not because its gonna be a speed machine... Don't get me wrong but Audi is a class!!!

um...what are you getting at drew?

I said multiple times in this thread that it's a daily driver and I'm not going to track the car, hence my choice of brakes and suspension.

Then go atleast 19's man! I tell you i went 18's cuz the said the ride is better but for looks everyday I wish i would have went 19's and I am going 20's cuz damn they look so nice on our cars!!! Bigger is better and its not alot of difference on ride... I am just sharing my pain of looking back and spending 1600 on a set of 18's instead of 1800 on a set of 20's!

speak for yourself broseph... i'll gladly break a 12 with my car. i would have already if i could keep my damn intercooler pipes on.

come to find out i had two major exhaust leaks and a non-functioning IAT sensor at the time i was running it too, also possibly a cracking/cracked throttle plate... (and a non-functioning OBD port, so no unisettings tweaks)

I wonder what it can do now that I've fixed all that (plus a couple more psi and some timing)

you buy an audi for whatever you want - it's a car. and it can be something no other car can -- fast, good looking, nice inside, relatively easy to work on/with, and a beast on any road (straight or curvy). i bought mine because i knew it COULD be a speed machine - now excuse me, i have some more work to do (in the cold) so that i can prove you wrong

B6 lovin prove me wrong but if you want to beat speed records in a 4 door fully leather car your crazy unless you have the money to put up for an RS4... I am just speaking from experience I was a once a honda racer with a 11 second car stripped and turbo and now I drive a much slower but classy A4 and get twice as many props!!! the thing is I have 18" TSW rims and i am getting this... thats it...

Break 12's as getting into the 12's or getting into the 11's?

12's in an A4 1.8t were like so 5 years ago.

So whats wrong with looking good and going fast? The look on the face of over priced Sports Car owner after I beat him in my A4 1.8t is "priceless".

A RS4, you think those are fast? LOL, well I have to say the owners of those do get mad "fast" when they find out the car is not all that fast for the $75k they paid for it.

i don't have the money for an rs4, and i have way too much sense to get one. i said i wanted a FAST car... not a car that comes with 420hp and that's it.

im already probably (definitely w/no hard proof) making more power than that, and im speaking from experience too. i guess you totally missed the point i was making.... i get the best of both worlds. i get a comfy car with a great interior - and i get a fast car. (and gas mileage too) my car is plenty classy, and most people who get in it still love it and think it's plenty luxurious... but EVERYONE who gets in it agrees that it's got some kick.

really though, the a4 isn't that much of a luxury car.... it's an entry-level, and that's all. sure it's got more to it than a gutted honda, but its not exactly a bently or anything.

oh and i run 19's daily (and i have coilovers/sways), no worse than my 16's, 17's, or 18's for ride quality. handling/performance is best on my 17's though.
