I have a set of wheels im going to be putting on my 2001 A4Q but everyone I have asked is giving me weird tires sizes that dont look right and i dont want to damage the center diff.

    wheels are 17x8.5(et49) & 17x10(et40)

I dont mind a good/extreme stretch but I would like to stay away from the big bulky/meaty tire look. btw the car is going to be dropped a decent amount.

can anyone give me a hand with this?

    Re: Tire sizes

If it were me, I would try something like 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. There will be a slight stretch in front and rear. Here's a good tire size calculator. To keep the Quattro happy, keep the difference in front/rear rolling diameter within 3%.

Also, I think you will hit the control arms with those offsets so you will probably need some spacers (15mm all around) to bring out the wheels. The rear is going to be hard to fit... It will poke a little, maybe go with a smaller tire (245) or do a slight fender pull. Post some pics once you get them on!
