I was driving just made a left turn from a stop and one of the arms that is held in by the pinch bolt popped off. It is the arm closest to the front of the car. I can see the little ball thing on the arm so nothing snapped. What is this part called so I can get it fixed!!!!! Asap AAA is on the way.

The upper control arm detached from the steering knuckle? Is the pinch bolt still there?

that is the upper control arm. just be careful driving. it is just a bolt that goes through to hold both arms in. replace the bolt and nut. the arm just pops right in.

    Re: Emergency!!!

The ball joint seperated from where the pinch bolt is attached. The VW dealership said I should replace both front upper control arms. Will that fix it? I have to order the parts myself, and where is the cheapest place to find them?
