Mine quit last week, just got the car back yesterday. One day it was blowing ice cold, the next Hot air. Dealer did mine under CPO warranty, so I can't help you much. Pretty long list of parts replaced, and I notice they drained the power steering and coolant to get to the unit.

I thought it might be a big job. Mine did the same as you said, one day it was fine the next day it just blows warm air.

If someone could chime in to what all is done to replace the air condition compressor, I'd appreciate it.

The reason I'm concerned is that I want to know everywhere they'll need to get to so I can look over their work.

Looks like there is a lot of work to get to it. Not sure how you would check to see if they did what they say they did. After the work just ask for the copy of your service history and that will show everything they've done including part numbers. They are allowed to share that with customers.

+2... I know its involved to get to. Its easily a couple hours of work.

I had to pay for it when mine went. $980 was the best price i could get (04's are chain driven units). Install took around 6 or 7 hours, the whole front end comes off.

have to pull the bumper cover.....then the lock carrier assembly....then then left engine
mount...and dipstick tube...and its right there....not really fun though
